A Horrible Disaster

The view I saw on T.V a few months ago is unforgettable. We were sitting at home watching a movie when the newsreader suddenly appeared with a news flash,’’A strong earthquake has just struck the middle of Cairo’’. The earth, we came to learn later, started to shake violently that afternoon. Many people were then at home, others were still at work, while students were on their way back home. It was really a moment of fear for everybody. The people were scared to death as they saw everything turning upside down. Buildings, cars and trees were suddenly turned into complete wreckage. No one had the chance to escape. Sometimes later, the scene was shown up on T.V. It was unbelievable. Tens of buildings had been completely destroyed while human corpses were lying everywhere. You could see mothers and fathers crying and mouring for their dead or missing children, and children in turn looking for their parents. The authorities did their best to offer help to the injured and to thousands of homeless people. Men of the Civil Defense, Red Crescent and other humanitarian foundations arrived on the scene to help the victims. Some people were miraculously found alive under the rubble, but unfortunately a lot were found dead. Both the dead and the injured were taken to hospitals while the survivors were gathered in safe places and provided with food, clothing, blankets and medicine. In a word, it was really one of the most horrible disasters I have ever seen. I hope no one would ever face such terrible incidents again.

A Handicapped Person

A handicapped person is someone who suffers from physical or mental disabilities. He faces many social problems in his life. So, he needs great care. But unfortunately, no one is carrying for him and respecting his case. In society, he’s not respected as if he is a scratch on a diamond’s surface. Being handicapped is considered embarrassment for many people. They may hurt, despise, or mock at him which may destroy his ambitions and hurt his feelings and sometimes, he may think of committing suicide. In addition, when it comes to education, most schools won’t accept him because in schools, they may think that he would be weak if he is physically handicapped and if he is mentally handicapped, they think that he might hurt students. Moreover, he can’t find a suitable job that fits him because he can’t work in any job. Doing daily activities, like bathing, writing, using sharp tools or other activities are considered indignation for a handicapped person without the help of someone else. Government should give him shelter to live in, a good salary to buy his daily needs, and special hospitals to be cured. Also, governments should construct special schools to give them good education.

Finally, a handicapped person needs much help, care and support. He is a normal person who should have all his rights

My lovely Mom

The mom is an important and special person in our life. If I want to give her rights, I can’t. All moms are nice regardless of their physical appearance. They have tender hearts that are trained to be patient. All moms have passionate feelings that they can give to their children. And as Prophet Mohammed Peace is upon him says, ‘’The paradise is under the mothers feet’’, and he said: ‘’Moms, Moms, Moms then fathers.’’ The moms sacrifice for their children and if one of their children is sick, they stay all night beside him or her.
We love you mom because you are the best and most important person in our life and from you, we take the good morals. The Mothers heart is a school for raising and taking care of daughters and sons who are the new generation. When we see you beside us, we feel very happy, because you help us and you do for us what we want without waiting any return from us. You let us differentiate the good actions from the bad ones.

Television

Television has become one of the greatest inventions of our age. T.V. means sending and receiving pictures by electric waves. It is found in almost every house and people of different ages watch it. It has advantages and disadvantages.
The first advantage of T.V is using it as a means of amusement. To enjoy themselves, people can stay at home, shop or office and watch different entertaining programs. They can enjoy watching films, plays, games and other interesting programs. Besides, they can watch the events of the world. The second advantage is using T.V. as a means of education. T.V. is of great value. Special educational programs are being shown on T.V. to teach people. Such programs teach foreign languages, other teach how to cook, how to sew and how to take care of families. All branches of knowledge such as science, medicine and arts can be seen on T.V.
On the other hand, T.V. has some serious disadvantages. Children and grown ups lose their time watching T.V. and leave their lessons and  duties. T.V.  also causes people to be dissatisfied with their own lives. In addition to that, some programs teach crimes and robbery. A child likes to imitate, so T.V. spoils the imitators. Children and guys become violent after some programs.
As a conclusion T.V. is a blessing if it is controlled and directed, but a curse if it is missed.

Benfits Of Travel

Travel in the past was very difficult because the means of transport were very poor. With the invention of planes, vehicles, ships and trains it has become easier and more comfortable. Every day thousands of people travel to different countries in the world for several reasons. Firstly, people travel to do business. Merchants travel abroad to buy the latest models and bring them home to sell them to their customers. By this they get great profits and provide the market with the new models that customers need. Secondary, people travel abroad for pleasure. When these people are on a holiday, they prefer to spend it outside their country to enjoy their time watching the beautiful scenes and staying in grand hotel having delicious meals. Thirdly, some people travel abroad for health reasons. Sick people especially those who have tuberculosis are advised to go to countries with dry climate which will be suitable for them and may improve their health. Sometimes they travel to European countries to carry out operations when they are in danger. Finally, people travel for education. Some students travel outside country to continue their higher studies and specialize in a new branch of learning. Sometimes doctors travel abroad to attend medical conferences and find out new ways to treat serious diseases. To conclude, we can say that travel is very important to people. It broadens their outlook on life and gives them the chance to have new friends and get acquainted with other cultures or civilizations.

Money: Merits and Demerit

Money plays an important role in our life. It is very necessary for everyone. Before the invention of money, people used to exchange things they owned for things they needed. Nowadays, we can’t imagine the world without checks, banknotes or coins. In one way, money has become a good servant for it helps to obtain and measure the value of things and services, but in another way it has become a bad master when it controls man.

On the one hand, money is necessary for us to get everything we need. Without it, we can’t get food, clothes or residence. It is necessary for those who go to school to have education, for those who need to be cured and for those who travel from place to place. The governments need a lot of money to develop their countries and citizens. Without money, no factories, streets, bridges or institutions are built.

On the other hand, money will be a great evil if it is misused or when it becomes an end itself. Some people may rob or kill to be wealthy, while others indulge in the luxuries of the world neglecting morality. Even wars may break out here and there when advanced countries seek the wealth of less advanced countries.

To sum up, money is a weapon with two edges. It can be a blessing as long as it is used to serve man, but when it becomes his master and obsession it will lead him to destruction. Anyhow, money should not become an end itself, but a means to an end.

My Frightened Dream

A few nights ago, I had a big meal and then went to bed. In my sleep, I had a strange dream. It was a nightmare and I got very frightened. In that dream, I found myself alone in a large deserted field. I wanted to go home, but I didn’t know which way to take. Suddenly, a strange short fat man with the head of a lion came from behind a big rock. He looked angry and started walking quickly towards me. He was carrying a dagger in his hand and looking me in the eyes. His sight had frozen the blood in my veins and made my hair stand up on ends, I had the impression that he intended to kill me. I decided to fight bravely. I got hold of a big club and stood ready to face him. When he got very near, I began hitting out right and left, up and down shouting loudly. I was lucky to give him a strong hit on the head which made him lose his balance and fall down.
I was still shouting when I felt a tender hand on my shoulder asking me to wake up to go to school. She was my mother. I was very happy to find myself in bed unhurt. I knew that it was just a fearful dream that people might see when they take a big meal before they go to bed.
